Saturday night, and I was in the Rathskeller hanging with the literature club and doing shots in some weird bar game. As far as I understood it, the goal was to quote the most obscure piece of poetry you could think of and let everyone else try to guess the source. Kate usually spent all day on the beach staring out over the gray sea as flat as a mirror, but it never did reflect anything back to her. The whole world might have been sunken beneath that silvered surface. She knew the dangers of the beach, but she had so little to occupy her time now while she waited for her child to be born.
